Nokia makes white Lumia 800 smartphone official

White Nokia Lumia 800

After a bit of back and forth and a dash of controversy last week, Nokia has come clean and officially announced the white version of the Lumia 800. Like the white version of the Nokia N9 that debuted last year, the Lumia 800's glossy white color cannot be scratched off because it is embedded into the smartphone's polycarbonate body.

Spec-wise, the white Lumia 800 is the same as the black, cyan, and magenta versions already released, and features the same 1.4GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera, and 3.7-inch WVGA ClearBlack curved AMOLED display. Nokia claims that it went through "hundreds of white pigments" to achieve the perfect white finish.

Nokia will release the white version of the Lumia 800 in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Finland, Poland, and Switzerland first, with other countries to follow later. An exact release date or price has not yet been announced.
