NEC recently took the wraps off of the MEDIAS ES N-05D, another super-slim smartphone that will be headed to the Japanese market. The MEDIAS ES N-05D measures a scant 6.7mm thick, putting it in a league with the Fujitsu ARROWS ES IS12F and Huawei Ascend P1 S.

The rest of the MEDIAS ES N-05D's specs are equally impressive, as it features a 4.3-inch, 720 x 1280 pixel HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, an 8.1 megapixel CMOS camera, and Bluetooth 4.0. Like many Japanese smartphones, the ES N-05D is waterproof and comes with NFC mobile wallet support, an infrared transmitter, and a digital TV tuner. NEC says that it also connects to the Casio G-SHOCK GB-6900 watch to provide smart watch functions. A 1,400mAh battery and microSD card slot can also be found on the phone.

The MEDIAS ES N-05D will be headed to Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo's shelves in either February or March. There is a slight chance that this phone will see a global launch, but nothing has been announced yet, and frankly, we wouldn't hold our breath for one. [via TechCrunch]
