A court in Germany has dismissed another patent complaint related to 3G and UMTS technologies levied against Apple by Samsung. Just a week ago, the same court denied one of Samsung's earlier patent complaints, which was also related to the same technologies.
The judge did not give a specific reason for dismissing Samsung's complaint, but it appears that it just was not strong enough to hold up in court. Samsung has also filed three other technology patent complaints and two additional patent complaints against Apple in Germany, so it still has a chance of getting at least one of those validated by the court. The non-technology related patent complaints relate to such things as emoticons in messages.
Either way, despite today's and last week's news, Apple and Samsung will still be in court for a long time to come, as both companies have plenty of bank roll to fund their legal battles. [via FOSS Patents]
