Apple has filed more lawsuits against Samsung in Germany, naming 10 of Samsung's smartphone models and 5 tablet models as infringing upon Apple's design patents.
The new lawsuit joins the earlier suits that Apple filed against Samsung in the country, and is looking for a ban on the sale of the infringing models. The smartphone lawsuit names the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S Plus as well as eight other models as infringing. It was filed in a regional court in Dusseldorf, where Apple has filed previous lawsuits against Samsung.
In addition to the suit naming the smartphone devices, Apple has also filed a lawsuit against the sale of five of Samsung's tablets, using a September, 2011 ruling against the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as its basis for the suit. The September case resulted in a ban on the sale of the original Galaxy Tab 10.1, but Samsung released a modified version called the Galaxy Tab 10.1N that has was able to dodge the sales injunction. Apple filed another lawsuit attempting to block the sale of the modified model, but the court has expressed that it is unlikely that this version will get banned from sale.
Samsung, for its part, has responded to Apple's initial lawsuits by filing its own complaints, stating that Apple uses Samsung's wireless technology without a license. Samsung has asked to ban the sale of Apple's devices, including the new iPhone 4S, in various countries, but has not had much success so far. [via Samsung]
