AT&T and Samsung have finally released the Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade for the Captivate smartphone released in 2010. The upgrade offers everything that you would come to expect from Android 2.3, including improved performance, an enhanced user interface, better copy and paste, and a new on-screen keyboard. Unfortunately, as with the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Captivate, users will have to plug their smartphones into their computers and install the upgrade with Samsung's Kies Mini software, as it is not available over-the-air.
