Motorola and Verizon Wireless have announced the DROID RAZR MAXX smartphone, a thicker version of the DROID RAZR that offers improved battery life.
The DROID RAZR MAXX is slightly thicker than the original DROID RAZR at 8.99mm, but Motorola claims that it offers 21 hours of talk time - an unheard of length of time for a modern smartphone. Everything else about the RAZR MAXX appears to be the same as the original, including the 4.3-inch, qHD Super AMOLED display and dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. The RAZR MAXX has support for Verizon's 4G LTE network and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, though an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be made available in the future.
Verizon intends to launch RAZR MAXX in the coming weeks for $299.99 with a new two-year agreement.
