Pantech and AT&T took the wraps off of the Element today, a new Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet that features 4G LTE connectivity and a unique waterproof construction.
The Element is Pantech's first LTE tablet and it features an 8-inch display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and is equipped with 16GB of internal storage and supports microSD memory cards. A 5 megapixel main camera is based up by a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and the entire assembly can be submersed in up to a meter (3 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes - as long as all of the ports are covered tightly.
AT&T will sell the Pantech Element on January 22 for $299 with a new two-year data plan contract. For a limited time, customers can purchase the Element along with the new Pantech Burst LTE smartphone together for $249.99.
