U.S. Cellular picks up Huawei Ascend II smartphone

U.S. Cellular has announced that it will carry the Huawei Ascend II smartphone starting next week. The Ascend II sports 3.5-inch display and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Ascend II is powered by a 600MHz processor and sports a 5 megapixel camera on the back. Its display has 320 x 480 pixels of resolution, and its 1,400mAh battery is good for up to 5 hours of talk time or 12.5 days of standby. The Ascend II comes with a 2GB microSD card, and it supports cards up to 32GB in capacity. The phone measures 118.1mm x 61mm x 11.7mm (4.65in x 2.40in x 0.46in) and weighs 136g (4.8oz).

U.S. Cellular will offer the Ascend II online next week and in stores starting in January. It will be free after rebate with a new two-year agreement.
