RIM has released the first beta of version 2.0 of the native SDK for the BlackBerry PlayBook for developers. The new SDK offers APIs for the magnetometer, gyroscope, and accelerometer, a Payment Service for subscriptions and in-app purchases, improvements in usability, performance, and reliability, and the Scoreloop SDK 1.0 Beta 1 for social gaming integration. Along with the beta of the SDK, developers can also access the BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0 Developer Beta software update for the PlayBook itself. Registered developers can download the new SDK and software update from RIM's developer site now.
