Millennial Media has just released its monthly report on impressions on its ad network, and as has been the case for much of the year, Android is the top smartphone platform, while Apple is the top smartphone manufacturer - despite Samsung's successes in the third quarter.
Samsung's sales successes with the Galaxy S II have yet to be reflected on Millennial's ad network, as the iPhone still led the way for devices. In fact, none of the top 20 devices were Galaxy S II models, though six of the top 20 did belong to Samsung and the original Galaxy S made a number of appearances. Samsung was the third largest manufacturer on Millenial's network, behind HTC and Apple.
Looking at the smartphone OS battle, Android claimed 56 percent of ad impressions in October, while iOS accounted for 28 percent and BlackBerry claimed 13 percent. This is the eleventh month in a row that Android has been the leading OS in Millenial's report.
