RIM has added a new member to its Bold family of smartphones, the BlackBerry Bold 9790. Taking the slot just below the Bold 9900/9930, the 9790 features a similar design to the older 9700 and 9780, but adds a touchscreen display and the BlackBerry 7 OS.
The Bold 9790 has a slightly slower processor than the 9900/9930, at only 1GHz clock speed. It also has a smaller, lower-resolution 2.4-inch HVGA (480 x 360 pixel) display. RIM did pack the 9790 with 8GB of on-board storage and it supports microSD cards up to 32GB in capacity. A 5 megapixel camera with LED flash can be found on the back of the phone. Of course, it wouldn't be a Bold without the famous scalloped keyboard, and the 9790 certainly has it.
RIM has been mum on pricing for the 9790, and it says that it will be available at retailers across the world in the coming weeks, but it did not reveal any exact release dates.
