Nokia Asha 303 offers full QWERTY, touchscreen for emerging markets

Nokia has announced the new Asha 303 feature phone, which is part of its new Asha line of phones for emerging markets. As the top model of the Asha line, the 303 features a full QWERTY keyboard and a capacitive touchscreen display.

Available in pink, silver, or blue, the Asha 303 is powered by a 1Ghz processor and includes both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The 303's touchscreen display measures 2.6 inches across, and there is a 5 megapixel camera on the back of the phone.

Included with the Asha 303 is the Nokia Browser, which offers cloud-based compression that can compress web pages by as much as 90 percent. Also included are the WhatsApp messaging app and Angry Birds, which is now available for the S40 platform.

The Asha 303 will be available in global markets before the end of the year. It is expected to cost 115 EUR (US$160).
