HTC has unveiled the Sensation XL, the newest member of its Beats Audio-equipped smartphone family. The Sensation XL joins the previously announced Sensation XE in HTC's line-up of smartphones with Beats Audio.
Featuring a massive 4.7-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) display, the Sensation XL lives up to the "XL" part of its name. Despite the big screen, the phone is quite trim, at only 9.9mm (0.39in) thick. It is powered by a single-core, 1.5GHz processor, and has 16GB of internal storage. The Sensation XL features an 8 megapixel camera with a 28mm, f/2.2 wide angle lens and backside illuminated sensor. The camera is also capable of recording video with stereo sound.
Like the Sensation XE, the Sensation XL's claim to fame is its Beats Audio integration. It comes with new urBeats branded headphones, and sports unique audio tuning from Beats for the best possible sound. Users will be able to send song recommendations and track information to their friends over SMS, email, or through their Facebook profile. HTC's Watch entertainment store is also included, providing users with an option to download and watch TV shows and movies on their mobile devices.
The Sensation XL is due to be available in Europe and Asia in early November. Pricing has yet to be announced.
