Pre-orders for Apple's new iPhone 4S smartphone will begin just after midnight Pacific time on Friday, October 7. Anxious shoppers can place their order for either the 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB versions of the iPhone 4S in black or white at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time / 3:01 a.m. Eastern time on Friday morning. Customers have their choice of AT&T, Verizon Wireless, or for the first time, Sprint as their carrier, and prices with new two-year contracts range from $199 for the 16GB model, to $299 and $399 for the 32GB and 64GB versions. Apple's full retail pricing is $649, $749, and $849 for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models, respectively.
