MetroPCS has just announced the LG Esteem, a new 4G LTE smartphone that is very similar to the LG Revolution released for Verizon Wireless earlier this year.
The Esteem sports a 4.3-inch, WVGA resolution display with Gorilla Glass, a 1GHz single-core processor, and 8GB of internal storage. There is a 5 megapixel camera on the back that can record 720p HD video, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chats. The Esteem sports a micro-HDMI port in addition to its micro-USB charging/syncing port.
Unlike the Revolution, the Esteem runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread from the get-go, though it still features LG's custom user interface. MetroPCS is selling the Esteem now for $349, though there is a $100 mail-in rebate available through the end of the year. New buyers will also get 90 days of free service through MetroPCS' Rhapsody Unlimited music program.
