Earlier this morning, Pocket-Lint reported that HTC and DropBox have signed a partnership that offers purchasers of the new Rhyme smartphone additional cloud storage space for their files. It is said that the offer will be extended to all Sense 3.5 smartphones in the future as well.
DropBox normally offers 2GB of free storage to users that sign up for its cloud services. The deal with HTC will offer an additional 3GB of storage to those who have Rhyme smartphone, bumping up the total capacity to 5GB. All a user has to do is connect their new phone to the DropBox platform to get the bonus storage space. This new service is expected to arrive in October.
We reached out to HTC for clarification on the new program, and the company said that it is not commenting on any deals with DropBox at this time.
