Sprint has announced that the long-awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade for the LG Optimus S smartphone is now being pushed out to users. The upgrade offers the usual set of enhancements that come with Gingerbread, including a refreshed user interface, a new multi-touch keyboard, dedicated power management and task killer apps, a Downloads app, and an updated camera app. The update also fixes a few bugs with volume control and 3-way calling. Sprint is releasing the update in stages, and all users are expected to get it within 10 days.
