NBC has upgraded its app for the Apple iPad to now offer streaming of full episodes on the tablet. When the app was originally released in June, users could only view clips of episodes, not full-length shows.

The new update to the app allows viewers to watch all of the content that is available on NBC.com on their iPads. Generally, the last five aired episodes of each show are available for streaming. NBC is following in the footsteps of ABC and CBS, both of which have offered full episode streaming to their iPad apps for over a year. The NBC app also allows users to follow a show and be notified when there is a new episode to watch, so they will not have to search for new episodes repeatedly.

We gave the app a test run on our iPad, and for most intents and purposes, it works pretty well. Loading times were minimal, when connected to a strong Wi-Fi network, at least, and video quality was smooth and not heavily pixelated.

Users can download the updated NBC app for the iPad for free from the iTunes App Store now. [via Mashable]
