In a move that can only be described as jumping the gun, German carrier Deutsche Telekom has begun taking reservations for Apple's next iPhone, despite the fact that Apple has yet to announce a next generation model.
According to the carrier's spokesperson speaking to Bloomberg, Deutsche Telekom will give coupons to customers who specifically request the next version of the iPhone. The coupons do not have the name (which is yet known) or any release details (which are also unknown at this point) for the device. DT says it is doing this in anticipation of supply bottlenecks and constraints when the new iPhone does actually get released.
Apple is widely expected to announce a followup to the iPhone 4 in the near future, though rumors can't seem to agree on whether it will be called the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5. Numerous reports say that retail availability of the new model will begin in October, with an announcement possibly this month. Leaked cases point to the new model being thinner, with a larger display.
