While owners of the Motorola ATRIX 4G for AT&T in the U.S. have been basking in Gingerbread glory since last month, it looks like their European counterparts will have to wait quite a bit longer before the Christmas cookie version of Android arrives for them.
In an update on its official Facebook page today, Motorola's European division said that it expects to "begin rolling out the Android 2.3 upgrade in Europe in early Q4." More details on timing and carriers would be provided as they become available.
It is not clear why the ATRIX is having such a delay in getting Gingerbead in the Old World, but at least users have something to look forward to once the weather starts to get colder.
