Smartphone maker HTC has announced a new partnership with Beats Audio, the headphone company led by Dr. Dre and producer Jimmy Iovine. It is said that the deal will result in a line of HTC smartphones with high-end sound later this year.
If you recall, HP has had a licensing deal with Beats Audio for a long time, and has used the branding on a number of laptops. The TouchPad tablet is also equipped with Beats Audio technologies. This new partnership with HTC will not affect Beats' existing partnerships, and the company will continue to operate autonomously.
It appears that the HTC phones that will be branded with Beats Audio will have special audio processing technologies licensed from the company for superior sound. It could be possible that HTC bundles Beats headphones in with its smartphones, but we won't be sure of that until later this fall when we see the fruits of this partnership.
Take a look at the promo video put together by the two companies below and watch a whole bunch of hip young people bobbing their heads while listening to music.
